    Description

The Hasson Trocar is a laparoscopic access instrument designed for use with the open-entry technique. It provides a controlled working channel through an incision in the abdominal wall and allows compatible laparoscopic telescopes and instruments to enter the operative cavity.

Salwan Surgicare is a surgical instrument manufacturer supplying Hasson Trocars to hospitals, distributors, procurement companies, laparoscopic surgery centres, healthcare organisations, and OEM partners worldwide.

A typical Hasson Trocar system includes a blunt obturator, cannula, valve housing, insufflation stopcock, and a mechanism for stabilising the port at the incision. The blunt obturator supports controlled placement after the tissue layers have been opened under direct surgical access.

After positioning, the obturator is removed while the cannula remains inside the access site. The valve system helps maintain pneumoperitoneum during the introduction and exchange of compatible instruments.

    Hasson Trocar Uses

The Hasson Trocar is used to establish the initial or an additional access port during laparoscopic surgery. It is specifically associated with the open Hasson technique rather than blind entry with a sharp trocar.

During the procedure, the surgeon creates a small incision and opens the abdominal wall layers according to the chosen surgical method. The blunt trocar assembly is then guided into the prepared opening.

Once the cannula is positioned, a fixation feature helps stabilise it at the port site. Depending on the approved design, fixation may involve a threaded cone, adjustable sleeve, suture supports, or another retention arrangement.

The obturator is withdrawn after placement. A compatible laparoscope or surgical instrument can then pass through the cannula. Meanwhile, the stopcock allows connection to an appropriate insufflation system.

The Hasson Trocar may be used in general surgery, gynaecology, urology, bariatric surgery, and other minimally invasive procedures where an open-entry method is selected.

    Benefits of the Hasson Trocar

The blunt obturator supports controlled passage through a surgically prepared opening. Therefore, the system is suited to open laparoscopic entry rather than relying on a sharp penetrating tip.

A port-site fixation mechanism helps reduce unwanted cannula movement during the procedure. Stable positioning can make telescope handling and instrument exchange more convenient.

The sealing valve helps limit gas leakage while compatible equipment is inserted or removed. As a result, the surgical team can maintain the required working space more effectively.

An insufflation stopcock provides a practical connection point for compatible gas tubing. It may also support controlled release of gas when required by the selected procedure.

The detachable assembly allows the obturator, cannula, valve housing, and related components to be inspected individually when the model is designed for reprocessing.

    Material & Quality

The reusable Hasson Trocar may be manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel together with suitable valve and sealing materials. The precise construction depends on the approved product configuration.

Production focuses on obturator alignment, cannula formation, blunt-tip finishing, valve performance, stopcock movement, component connection, and fixation-system operation. Accurate assembly supports smooth placement and instrument passage.

Each instrument is inspected for component fit, cannula consistency, sealing performance, fixation action, stopcock operation, surface condition, and overall workmanship before packaging.

Available within our broader trocars range, the Hasson Trocar provides a dedicated open-entry option alongside the 5 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm trocar models.

    Export-Ready Instruments

Salwan Surgicare supplies Hasson Trocars to hospitals, distributors, procurement companies, laparoscopic centres, healthcare organisations, and medical equipment dealers across the UK, the Middle East, Africa, East Asia, South Asia, North America, and South America.

OEM manufacturing, private labelling, customised markings, and tailored packaging are available for qualified partners. Selected diameters, cannula lengths, fixation arrangements, and valve configurations may be supplied according to approved specifications.

Secure export packaging helps protect the obturator, cannula, valve housing, stopcock, fixation components, and surface finish during storage and international transportation.
