Description
A TURP Collins Knife is an electrosurgical electrode used with a compatible resectoscope system during transurethral urological procedures. Its narrow, knife-shaped working tip supports controlled tissue incision and precise cutting within the surgeon’s field of view.
As a surgical instruments manufacturer in India, we supply TURP electrodes and reusable urology instruments to hospitals, distributors, procurement companies, healthcare organisations, and OEM partners worldwide.
Collins Knife electrodes may be available in monopolar or bipolar configurations. Depending on the selected model, options may also include single-stem or double-stem construction and compatibility with different resectoscope systems.
The electrode must match the intended working element, sheath size, telescope arrangement, and electrosurgical system. Available configurations can therefore vary by connection type, stem design, working length, and resectoscope compatibility.
TURP Collins Knife Uses
The Collins Knife supports controlled incision during transurethral procedures. Its fine working tip allows the surgeon to make narrow cuts without using a conventional wire-resection loop.
Common uses may include transurethral incision of the prostate and selected bladder-neck procedures. The electrode may also be used when controlled incision of firm or fibrotic tissue is required during compatible urological procedures.
During use, the Collins Knife is attached to a suitable working element and introduced through the resectoscope sheath. The telescope provides visual guidance while the connected electrosurgical system supplies the required energy.
Monopolar Collins Knife
A monopolar TURP Collins Knife is designed for use with a compatible monopolar resectoscope and electrosurgical generator. Electrical current travels from the active electrode through the patient to a suitable return electrode.
Different connection patterns may be available for selected resectoscope systems. Single-stem and double-stem designs can also be supplied where specified.
Bipolar Collins Knife
A bipolar TURP Collins Knife is intended for a compatible bipolar resectoscope system. In this configuration, electrical energy is delivered between the electrode poles within the operative area.
Bipolar models must be matched with the correct working element, generator, sheath, and system components. Monopolar and bipolar electrodes are not interchangeable unless the complete equipment system specifically supports them.
Benefits of a Collins Knife Electrode
The narrow distal profile supports focused tissue incision during visually controlled procedures. Its knife-shaped tip is suited to techniques that require a straight or precise cut rather than broad tissue resection.
Multiple configurations allow hospitals and distributors to select an electrode for their existing resectoscope platform. Clearly identified stem and connection options also simplify instrument-set preparation and product ordering.
A stable electrode structure supports controlled handling through the working element. In addition, smooth external surfaces allow straightforward visual inspection before use.

Material & Quality
Each TURP Collins Knife is produced from suitable electrosurgical-grade materials according to its design and intended system. Manufacturing focuses on accurate electrode shape, stable stem alignment, secure insulation, reliable connections, and consistent dimensions.
Quality checks cover the distal tip, stem structure, insulation, connector fit, surface condition, and overall workmanship. Packaging is selected according to whether the model is reusable or supplied for single use.
As part of our urology instruments range, Collins Knife electrodes may be supplied in different system-compatible configurations. Monopolar, bipolar, single-stem, and double-stem options may be discussed according to catalogue availability.
